1. what we collect
We collect an anonymous session ID (stored as a cookie), your approximate location if you allow it, and the posts, votes, and reactions you create. That is it.
2. what we don't collect
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or IP address. We do not do device fingerprinting. We genuinely do not know who you are, and we like it that way.
3. location data
Location is used only to show you nearby posts. We store approximate coordinates, never your exact address. Your location is never shared with other users or third parties.
4. cookies
We use one session cookie for your anonymous identity. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no third party cookies. Just the one that makes gab work.
5. data storage
Data is stored in a SQLite database. Posts expire and are deleted after 24 hours unless pinned by the community. We do not keep historical archives of expired content.
6. third parties
We do not share your data with anyone. No advertisers, no analytics companies, no data brokers. Your data stays on gab.
7. your rights
You can delete your posts anytime. If you want to start completely fresh, just clear your cookies and your identity resets. There is no data to request because we do not tie anything to a real identity.
8. children
gab is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will remove their data.
9. changes
If we update this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. By continuing to use gab, you agree to the latest version.
