1. what gab is
gab is an anonymous, location based posting app. Posts are ephemeral and tied to your area. Think of it as overhearing what your neighborhood is buzzing about, without anyone knowing who said what.
2. your account
There are no accounts. You get an anonymous session via a cookie, and that is your identity. We do not collect your name, email, or phone number. If you clear your cookies, your old identity is gone forever.
3. content rules
Keep it cool. No hate speech, threats, doxxing, CSAM, or spam. Content may be filtered automatically to keep things safe. If something breaks these rules, it gets removed.
4. energy system
You have a daily energy budget for posting and interactions. This exists to keep quality high and prevent spam. Energy regenerates over time, so pace yourself.
5. 24 hour expiration
Posts disappear after 24 hours unless the community pins them. Pinned posts stick around longer. This keeps things fresh and relevant to what is happening right now.
6. user conduct
Be cool. Do not abuse the system, manipulate votes, impersonate others, or try to break things. Treat people the way you would want to be treated in a conversation.
7. content removal
We can remove any content or restrict access at any time, for any reason. We will try to be fair about it, but we reserve the right to keep gab a good place.
8. no warranty
gab is provided as is, with no guarantees. We do our best to keep it running, but stuff happens. We are not liable for content posted by users or for any downtime.
9. changes to terms
If we update these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. By continuing to use gab, you agree to the latest version.
